ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sculptor, T. Kent Atkins has been involved in some form of the arts since his early educational days. After a primary introduction to painting and sculpture while he was in college, Kent became a performer, musician and thespian. Subsequently, he became an entrepreneur, broadcaster and the owner-operator of six Christian radio stations in West Texas and Louisiana. Additionally, he created and operated the satellite radio network known as the SONshine Radio Network
While always maintaining his love for clay and the 3-dimensional arts, he renewed his commitment to sculpture at the Dallas Craft Guild. He has studied sculpture with the Dallas sculptor George Davis, Ft. Worth native Art Blevins and with the famous Italian sculptor Bruno Lucchesi. He is committed to realism and the revival of true creativity in his work.
Atkins now maintains the Ft. Worth based entity, The Atkins Studio, and is currently sculpting both life sized proportional terracotta and bronze statuary. He is a member of the Texas Sculpture Association and the National Sculpture Society
